I forced the door closed and collapsed. The wind was
muted to a dull roar in the antechamber. But it continued to batter the
building, howling like a ravenous beast intent on entering the den of its prey.
I lay panting on the floor for several moments before managing to get myself to
my hands and knees. The inner door opened and someone helped me to my feet,
practically dragging me through the door. The chamber was warm compared to the
antechamber, uncomfortably so compared to the outside. They put me in a chair
and threw a blanket over me.
