The hamster cage sat on the dresser. The once clear plastic walls
had developed a film, obscuring the view of the interior.
It was a fairly standard interior. There floor was covered
with shavings, which were replaced every so often. And there was a wheel for
the hamster to run in. No one really understood why hamsters like to run on
wheels, but it seemed to be a pleasant enough experience.
There was also a nest of sorts, made of cotton, the hamster had
built in what can only be described as a hamster sized building in one back
corner.
