I reached over and fumbled for the sleep button. I didn’t
want to get up. My limbs were heavy. Was I getting sick? I hoped not; it was
only Tuesday.
When my alarm went off again, it made my face and chest
ache. I groaned and pushed the covers away. I stumbled out of bed, groping for
the light switch. The light stabbed my eyes.
I turned away and looked out the window. Snow had
accumulated on the sill last night, and it was still coming down. The urge to
return to bed redoubled. That’s why I was so tired.
