100 Words a Day 781

Dueling was an everyday thing for the elves. Minor slights regularly led to bloodletting. Normally, a few passes were exchanged, someone got a slash on the arm, and that was it. Things became much more serious on the rainbow bridges. While no one tried to kill anyone any more than normal, if you fell off the bridge you were in trouble. You would find yourself falling through the void, passing all the floating continents and watching them fade from view. If you were lucky you might land on a ship traversing the empty space before the impact would kill you.
