100 Words a Day 791


The short-statured beings were covered by large robes, heads guarded by tightly-pulled hoods. As such, I was unable to make out any distinguishing features of either individuals or general characteristics of their species, height aside, which I had not previously encountered. I looked down from the ledge where I had concealed myself and watched them pass. The swayed as they walked, chanting in time with their footsteps. The whole thing gave the appearance of some religious ceremony. Given how deep in the tunnels we were, I assumed it must be secret. I briefly wondered what would happen were I discovered.
