It was the worst time of the year for my commute. The
traffic was as bad, as it always was. I could never get the inside of the car to
be a comfortable temperature, so I was constantly fiddling with the temperature
controls. I had to squint against the sun for the entire hour, both ways.
I had a headache from the bright sunlight. I knew from
experience that it would last most of the day. And I would get another headache
on the drive home. I asked myself, and not for the first time, why I didn’t
change jobs.
