100 Words a Day 1202
A guard appeared at the end of the alley. Sahla turned
and started running back the way she had come. The guards chasing her were already
coming down the alley. She cast a quick glance over her shoulder, more guards.
She drew her sword. It was straight and strong. Precious stones, mismatched,
decorated the hilt. She charged towards one set of guards, reaching into her
belt pouch as she did so. As she reached the first guard, she threw the
contents of her pouch in his face. He fell back, screaming and dropping his
sword among the dark alley muck.
