The seats were filled, with people he knew and a couple
of new kids. Kevin felt something was missing. Andy was gone. It all came
flooding back to him. The open front door. The closed bedroom door, note taped
to the front. Andy’s room had been dark. He couldn’t remember if he’d seen Andy’s
face. The next thing he recalled was standing in the cold while a police
officer called Andy’s parents.
It had only been six months. How could he have forgotten
about Andy already? He bit his lips to keep from sobbing, but tears streamed
down his cheeks.
