The clientele were the expected mix for a tropical bar. One corner had a large party of middle-aged people sharing an expensive-looking bowl and dancing cringe worthy dance that the older ones do when you mix alcohol and attempts to recapture your youth. Nearer the window, a group of much younger people also consuming an expensive bowl drink. There was an empty one the table next to them. They were engaging in the grand gestures, hilarious slips, and overconsumption of alcohol particular to the young and successful. As though they realized they had nothing to recapture, only things to lose.
