He quaffed the large drink she offered. The cold, boozy
fluid went down smooth.
“Ah,” he sighed, feeling restored.
“That was just what I needed.”
“I know,” she said, her smile sparkling all the way up to
her eyes.
He felt dizzy.
“Woah,” he said, grabbing the table. “What was in that?
It’s strong.”
She didn’t respond.
His fingers went numb. He lost his grip on the table.
His vision became blurry and his brow furrowed in
confusion.
“Are you okay?” she asked.
His fuzzy vision made it hard to be sure, but he thought
her smile had turned cruel.
