100 Words a Day 1065

Murg paused atop the hill and soaked in the view of the valley. A river ran arrow-straight through the town, positioned in the middle of the bowl, and then past the squat, stone fort that surrounded the entrance to the cave.

A moment later Kelkinor came huffing up after him.

“So that’s it,” he said. “Doesn’t look like much.”

“Yeah, hard to believe they found one here.”

Murg snorted, “I’ll believe that when I see it.”

He shrugged his shoulders to adjust his pack and began descending the gentle slope.

“Best get this over with,” he called back to Kelkinor.
