Captain Blood is the tale of Peter Blood, an Irish doctor driven to piracy after being wrongfully convicted of treason in a sham trial. One he escapes slavery in Barbados, Blood uses his iron charisma and honorable nature to assemble a crew, becoming a swashbuckling terror on the high seas. He engages in daring raids throughout the Caribbean, trades cannon fire with the Spanish armada, and duels the wicked captain Levasseur. Through it all he retains his noble character, in hopes that one day he might find redemption in the eyes of Arabella Bishop, the niece of his arch nemesis.
