100 Words a Day 178, 36 Plots 15/36

The sense of betrayal overwhelmed any fear of death as the hatchet descended. He’d given as good as he’d got, but there were two of them and he didn’t want to hurt his wife.

He’d walked in on them, his wife and her lover, embracing. He shouted at the other man to get away from her.

The two separated, and all of them began arguing. He turned to his wife to ask her why. While he was turned, the other man struck.

From the floor he heard the other man insist it was the chance they had been waiting for.
