100 Words a Day 762


I stepped as close to the edge as I dared, sending a sprinkle of brown dirt into the darkness below. I had never seen the edge of a continent before. I could see the bottoms of several other landmasses below me. A few lights dotted the rocky undersides, but I couldn’t make out what they were. Between me and the other continents was a dark grey mass that I assumed it was the iron mass that all the lands orbited. I could see the arching rainbow bridges that connected some of the continents, including the very one I was seeking.
