The sun was still high in the summer sky when the street
suddenly filled with people hurrying towards the train. It happened like this
every weekday. The instant the workday ended, the office people that manned the
skyscrapers that made up the steel forest of downtown flooded into the streets
and made their way to the high speed trains that would take them back to their
bedroom communities. These consisted of rows of identical houses radiating out
from the train station. Some had shiny, expensive cars parked in front of them.
They all had meticulously manicured lawns and garish gardens.
