100 Words a Day 895

“Excuse me,” I said.

The man who had just shoved past me turned towards me. “What?” he growled.

“You shoved past me.”

“So? You shouldn’t be standing in the doorway.”

“The train’s very crowded.”

A small circle was opening up around us, the other passengers pressing against each other to avoid us.

“So you can just stand in the doorway and block everyone trying to get on?” he thrust his chin out and pulled his shoulders back.


“I made as much room as I could,” I replied, holding my hands up, palms forward, and putting my right foot behind me.
